PAWS (Pet Animal Welfare Society) and TLC (Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Humane Society) are being offered an opportunity to work with a veterinarian to create a low cost North Georgia Spay Neuter Clinic. Dahlonega and Lumpkin County have promoted the area as attractive for cycling. Now a new law provides greater protection for cyclists. Formerly Georgia law required motorists to maintain a safe distance from the cyclist. Now a three foot distance is required. A vehicle that hits a cyclist will clearly be in violation of the law.
