Thursday, September 10: Ken and Judy Craft will be speaking on the State School Board, Common Core, the College Board, and how you can review and express your opinions on the textbooks being selected by the Lumpkin County Board of Education.
I have heard the Crafts speak twice now, and I promise they will have information that will both interest and inform you, along with many very interesting charts and examples of their work. They are a wealth of information! Please use this special event to bring your friends and neighbors and introduce them to the good work we are doing — this is a great chance to educate the public about how they can impact education locally.
The Crafts have reviewed scores of textbooks being used in the Gwinnett County schools, and they have successfully lobbied to have bad textbooks removed from the schools there.
They can tell you how to make a difference in Lumpkin County.
The 400 Tea Party Meeting is at 7:00, Thursday Sept. 10 at the United Community Bank, 206 Morrison Moore Parkway in Dahlonega.
